Mohammed Ibrahim Mehmood, 19, of Woodroyd Road, West Bowling, who was found guilty of the murder of Junaid Khan following a two-month trial at Bradford Crown Court, was previously told he faced a life sentence. Junaid Khan was killed on June 6 last year, three days after a separate incident between him, Mehmood, and Mehmood’s friend Mohammed Tayyub. Afterwards, Junaid told a friend that Mehmood had boiled a kettle and split water on him, and had “cracked him in the face.” In his evidence during the trial, Mehmood said he was “scared and panicked” during the street violence as Junaid was “attacking and retreating” throughout the incident. He was found not guilty of attempted murder, wounding with intent, and violent disorder.
