A third-degree heat alert has come into force, ordered by the chief medical officer from 12 midnight on Thursday until midnight on Tuesday. According to HungaroMet’s Thursday morning bulletin, the average temperature in a further three counties may exceed 27C. On Thursday, the average temperature will also exceed 27C in Vas, Tolna and Pest counties, HungaroMet said. On Friday, the average is forecast to rise above 29C in Komárom-Esztergom, Fejér and Bács-Kiskun counties. In Nógrád, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties it will be above 25C, and elsewhere above 27C.
