The change, which comes into effect on Monday 10th August, aims to improve patient experience by reducing waiting times and better managing daily demand. From that date, the hospital will no longer offer a walk-in service for GP-requested blood tests. Lee Phillips, head of pathology at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Many patients choose to have their blood tests at Salisbury Hospital each day. "To improve how we manage this process, and to improve patient experience, we are launching a state-of-the-art appointments system in August. Patients can book their blood test using the online portal at salisbury.nhs.ukAlternatively, blood tests can be arranged at a patient’s GP surgery or at the Community Diagnostic Centre in Salisbury city centre.
