BIG BEAR LAKE? That's when SkyFest shimmers, giving astronomy buffs and lovers of Big Bear's epic outdoors scene plenty to go agog over. An afternoon astronomy festival, one that will feature experts and sky-observoing pros, will make its debut in 2026, so head to the Big Bear Lake Convention Center for AstroFestival. Other draws include the opportunity to Stargaze at the Summit, an every-evening event setting up shop at Snow Summit Ski Resort, and a Friday and Saturday astro meet-up for youngsters and their parents at the Big Bear Discovery Center. Gaze above the lake: You might just find the Milky Way, a far-off star you love, or another wonder of the night sky.
