Maui police officers responded to reports of an organized retail theft at a Wailea retail complex Tuesday evening, where three suspects allegedly stole luxury items valued at over $80,000. The incident was reported at 8:30 p.m. at the retail complex located at 3750 Wailea Alanui Drive. A preliminary police investigation revealed that three male suspects entered a retail store and allegedly stole three luxury handbags valued at approximately $77,950. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Maui Police Department’s Juvenile Crime Prevention Division at 808-244-6493. However, police say exceptions exist when public safety or crime prevention justifies the release, such as warning the public about dangerous fugitives.
