Bob Brown, who spent 38 years writing about sports for the Rochester Post Bulletin — most of them as its sports editor — has died at 84.
Brown was born near Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he began his love affair with sports and was a multi-sport standout at Oconto High School.
“He did like being close to the action,” said former Post Bulletin sports editor Craig Swalboski, who was hired by Brown in 1977 and worked with him for 28 years.
Brown worked in newspapers for 43 years, including 38 years in the sports department at the Post Bulletin.
