Instructions to Prepare Area-wise Energy Demand and Supply Map Staff Correspondent, Dhaka (Thursday, July 30, 2026)State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit has said that Bangladesh needs a comprehensive, geographically and data-based map clearly identifying the country’s mineral resources and their locations. The State Minister made these remarks on Thursday while attending two separate meetings at Bidyut Bhaban. During the meeting, the State Minister stressed the need for an accurate area-wise assessment of energy demand and supply across the country. Later, the State Minister attended a discussion at the Secretariat on the approval and prioritisation of unapproved projects under the Power Division. The State Minister said that the waste of public funds through poorly planned and unnecessary projects, as witnessed in the past, must not be repeated.
