A workshop held at the University of South Dakota-Sioux Falls gave a preview of what science curriculum in public schools could look like in the near future. Led by the University of South Dakota’s Christopher Anderson, the workshop introduces educators to curriculum modules developed through Dr. Anderson's National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award research. The experimental curriculum at the USD workshop focused on chameleons, specimens that Anderson works with frequently at his lab. Workshop participants using arts & crafts materials to create a model that simulates a chameleon's tongue. Afterwards, they will reconvene with researchers to examine what worked, what didn’t, and what needs to be added to the curriculum.
