Just The News - Not The Noise
The report is based on findings observed during the 2025-2026 school year, which showed the majority of Florida children entering kindergarten in 2025 were not ready.
One of the factors that promoted kindergarten readiness was whether the child participated in Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten program.
At Pointe Vedra Palm Valley Rawlings, where the population had 5.1% of economically-disadvantaged students, kindergarten readiness was nearly at 70%.
The report said grants should be offered to early learning coalitions and child care providers to increase the quality of instructional material.
“Strengthening kindergarten readiness is one of the smartest long-term investments Florida can make to secure its future workforce and economic competitiveness.”
