(Johnny Hayward)Red Deer’s Brad Balon won two bronze medals at the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation’s 2026 World Over-35 Waterski Championships. Held at Predator Bay in Calgary, the event brought together more than 250 athletes from about 20 countries to compete in slalom, trick, jump and overall. Competing in the Over-45 Men’s division, Balon captured the bronze medal in jump before adding a second bronze medal in the Overall competition, which recognizes the top combined performances across slalom, trick and jump. Balon’s two medals helped Canada’s 10-athlete World Championship team finish second in the overall team standings.
