The airport is hosting passenger flights in Spitfires and a P-51 Mustang through a partnership between flying school Flynqy and FlyaSpitfire.com.
Anticipating high levels of public interest, Cornwall Airport Newquay has opened a dedicated viewing area where visitors can safely watch the aircraft from a raised platform overlooking their parking stands.
Duncan Healey, of Cornwall Airport Newquay, said it was "a pleasure and an honour" to host the vintage aircraft.
Nicholas Brooks, of Flynqy, said bringing the flights to Newquay allowed people in Cornwall to experience flying in "one of the most iconic aircraft ever built" without travelling elsewhere in the country.
The passenger flights are weather dependent and are being operated throughout the week by FlyaSpitfire.com and Flynqy.
