The court heard the offences took place in the Bude area during the 1980s when the victim was a teenager. After living with the trauma for decades, the victim reported the offences to police, prompting an investigation. Being medically blind, he claimed one incident of inappropriate touching had been accidental because of his visual impairment. Devon and Cornwall Police said support remains available for anyone affected by sexual abuse and encouraged victims to come forward regardless of how much time has passed since an offence was committed.
