Australian hiker found dead in the Tetons after being missing for nearly a week

Post Views: 1,274GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyoming — An Australian man was found dead in a remote part of the Tetons on Wednesday, after being missing for nearly a week.
According to a news release from Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR), at approximately 8:20 a.m. Search & Rescue located a deceased hiker on the remote trail system between Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.
“Evidence suggests that he may have fallen from a steep, high-altitude ridgeline that separates Grand Teton National Park and the Jedediah Smith Wilderness,” says the release.
According to information provided by officials from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Standish was regularly updating his family in Australia via a Garmin satellite device.
His body was recovered and transported to search and rescue headquarters in Jackson, Wyoming, before being transferred to the Teton County Coroner’s Office.
