Some 500 special forces personnel from eight countries are already in Panama to participate in the multinational exercise Panamax 2026, which will bring together around 1,700 uniformed personnel.
The contingents that have already arrived in the country come from Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.
Panamax 2026 includes joint exercises between forces from different countries, with simulations of naval, land and air operations, as well as special forces activities.
The maneuvers also include logistical components and exercises aimed at evaluating the coordinated response capacity to different scenarios and the protection of infrastructure considered critical.
With the arrival of the various contingents, Panama becomes the setting for a multinational exercise that will include the participation of military personnel from at least 19 countries.
