Fort Frances native Dr. Debra Rose Wilson has received a singular honour with her induction as a fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Nursing, one of the highest professional honours in nursing, signifying that an individual has made enduring, national or international contributions to the field.

She was named American Holistic Nurse of the Year in 2017 and inducted into the Global Academy of Holistic Nursing in 2025.
Wilson will be formally inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing during the organization’s annual Health Policy Conference in Washington, D.C., October 8–10.
