Discus thrower Tiara DeRosa hopes to break her national record when she competes at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow today [July 30]. The 28-year-old warmed up for the Games by breaking her previous national record after finishing third at the Throw Town Ramona meeting, part of the Oklahoma Throws Series, with a throw of 51.10 metres. “It felt great to set a new record,” DeRosa told Bernews. DeRosa is competing at her second Commonwealth Games after making her debut in Birmingham in 2022. “We’ve competed together at the Carifta Games, the CAC Games and the Commonwealth Games, so we have a tight bond.”
