EACC Reclaims Ksh100 Million Govt Properties After Court Ruling

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered two public properties in Mombasa and Kwale worth a combined Ksh100 million following judgments by the Environment and Land Court.
Mombasa High Court, located within the main Mombasa Law Courts complex on Nkrumah Road, Mombasa.
The Environment and Land Court in Mombasa found that a government house reserved for senior civil servants had been fraudulently allocated to a former Senior Resident Magistrate in 1998.
Similarly, the court in Kwale nullified the lease issued over land set aside as a public access corridor linking Ukunda-Diani Road to the Indian Ocean.
EACC disclosed that it has recovered public assets worth more than Ksh1.16 billion across the Coast region over the last three years, including land belonging to several state agencies and county governments.
