The communiqué, signed by NARD President, Dr Mohammad Suleiman, and Secretary, Dr Shuaibu Ibrahim, expressed dissatisfaction with what the association described as the government’s slow implementation of agreements reached with resident doctors. The association raised concerns over the lingering industrial relations issues at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), alleging continued intimidation of resident doctors by the hospital management and the failure to provide call-duty meals. NARD further appealed to the managements of the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Owerri; Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi; Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex; and the University of Benin Teaching Hospital to resolve lingering salary and welfare issues affecting resident doctors.
