Award-winning community arts organisation Pinhole London has today launched a walk-in camera obscura at Alexandra Palace — a room that magically turns the best view in London upside down.
Visitors that step inside this immersive camera obscura will see a glistening panorama of London’s most iconic landmarks — including the Shard, the BT Tower and the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf — appear before them, upside down.
Outside, people in Alexandra Palace Park will move about in real time — also upside down.
A camera obscura experience is an immersive journey into the origins of film and photography.
For nine days in August, the camera obscura will be open to the public on the viewing terrace of Alexandra Palace — everyone is welcome to come and have their world tipped upside down.
