Changes will come into effect from August 8, at Colchester Leisure Park to prioritise parking for visitors to the site and improve traffic flow in the surrounding area. Visitors will continue to benefit from free parking, but only if they validate their stay with a participating business at the leisure park. Councillor Martin Goss, portfolio holder for waste, neighbourhoods and leisure, at Colchester Council said: "Colchester Leisure Park is a growing and popular destination and it's important that parking remains available for the people using its businesses and attractions. On busy event days, including Colchester United home matches and other major events, higher parking charges will apply to drivers who are not using leisure park venues. Those travelling by car should use appropriate parking facilities and follow local parking restrictions.
