Colchester Council is seeking changes to Priory Walk, a pedestrian route that connects the heart of Colchester to Sainsbury’s and is lined with independent businesses, services, and amenities. The route is used throughout the day by residents, visitors and local businesses, but concerns have been raised regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and anti-social behaviour. "Priory Walk sits within an area that is seeing significant investment and positive change, including the regeneration of St Nicholas Square and plans to bring forward opportunities around St Botolph's. Although Priory Walk is privately owned and managed, the council expects it to be maintained to a standard that reflects its prominent position within the city centre. The council said it would welcome the involvement of local businesses and volunteers in the initiative.
