The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has banned imports of new foreign-made advanced robotic devices and power inverters, citing national security risks. In the case of a robotic device, there is still confusion as to which type of robots are advanced robotic devices and are banned. According to this definition, the ban includes robotic vacuum cleaners. Interestingly, the ban is not so much concerning for the existing users of Chinese vacuum cleaners, humanoids, and inverters. Some are finding this ban a great move to ensure national security, but many are also criticizing the step as it affects their daily life.
