A coalition of institutions in Shanghai have launched a “Museum Healing Alliance”, focus on exploring museum-based mental health support and therapeutic programming for those in need of aid. Organizers have claimed the “Museum Healing Alliance” would be the first project of its kind in China. Some museums taking part in the initiative include the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, the Being Art Museum and the Shanghai Natural History Museum. The Shanghai Mental Health Center will collaborate as a healthcare counterpart. An additional examples came from Washington D.C.’s Phillips Collection, which arranges a number of mental health and wellness initiatives.
