VicScreen has partnered with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the next iteration of its Originate initiative, which will be focused on narrative comedy series. Selected projects/teams will take part in masterclasses led by prominent comedy writers before working one-on-one with a dedicated international script editor. “The added platform that the Melbourne International Comedy Festival brings as the largest dedicated comedy festival in the world, will give these creators unparalleled exposure to showcase their works and announce to the world, Victoria truly is the home of comedy in Australia.” Melbourne International Comedy Festival incoming CEO/festival director Dylan Cole added: “The Melbourne International Comedy Festival has always been a place where comedy talent is discovered, developed and celebrated.
