Residents in Wake Forest and other communities served by the city of Raleigh's water system will no longer be subject to Stage 1 water restrictions beginning Monday, Aug. 3. The city of Raleigh announced Tuesday that recent rainfall has improved water supply conditions enough to lift the restrictions under its Water Supply Plan. City officials also reported that Lake Benson is full and Lake Wheeler is nearly full. Stage 1 restrictions were implemented earlier this summer as drought conditions lowered water levels and prompted officials to encourage conservation. Although the restrictions are ending, city officials are asking residents to continue using water wisely.
