A 71-year-old man was killed after a tree fell on a home Tuesday, July 28. The victim has been identified as Michael Ferguson, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office. This is an ongoing investigation by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Two other people were inside the home when the tree fell, but no other injuries have been reported. The Wake County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
