The Dons have a real chance to lay down a marker for the new season by beating Hearts at Pittodrie in their league opener on Saturday. They’ve lost their manager Derek McInnes, captain and leading goalscorer Lawrence Shankland, and a key midfielder in Cammy Devlin. But that doesn’t mean the Dons can walk onto the pitch at Pittodrie on Saturday evening thinking they are going to win. You can add Kusini Yengi, Peter Ambrose and Ante Palaversa to that list as well of players not involved too. For all the wheeling and dealing at the club the squad still has a lot of players who are sitting idle.
