‘The Odyssey’ Just Did in 13 Days What ‘Oppenheimer’ Took Nearly Two Years to Accomplish

That steady momentum has now produced one of the more staggering box office comparisons of the year.
According to Deadline, ‘The Odyssey’ pulled in 13.6 million dollars on Wednesday alone, pushing its domestic running total to 334.2 million dollars and officially surpassing ‘Oppenheimer’s’ full lifetime domestic gross of 330 million dollars.
The catch is that Nolan’s Oscar-winning 2023 biopic needed 595 days in theaters to reach that same total, while ‘The Odyssey’ managed it in just 13.
That comparison places ‘The Odyssey’ as Nolan’s third-highest-grossing film domestically, trailing only ‘The Dark Knight’ at 534.9 million dollars and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ at 448.1 million dollars.
The film’s opening weekend hold has been just as remarkable, dropping only 30% in its second weekend after debuting to 123.5 million dollars domestically.
