A rabid bat was found Tuesday, July 28 at Gene Coulon Park in Renton, and anyone who may have had physical contact with it should seek medical evaluation immediately, according to Public Health – Seattle & King County. The bat was found Tuesday on the sidewalk at the south end of the park, near the playground, south shelter and park restrooms, Public Health said. Members of the public first identified the bat July 28 and reported it to park staff, who notified Public Health. Pet owners whose animals may have had contact with the bat should contact a veterinarian immediately, according to Public Health.
