The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon, July 29, 2026, on Pinewood Drive in Lincoln County. Earlier that morning, deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance involving an alleged assault at a home on Pinewood Drive. After repeated attempts to communicate with him were unsuccessful, the Lincoln County sheriff requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop C SWAT team. Gunfire was exchanged, and one SWAT officer was struck in the ballistic helmet by a bullet. Once the investigation is complete, all reports will be submitted to the Lincoln County prosecutor for review.
