A Chillicothe man is facing a felony property damage charge after police said he intentionally damaged the entrance to his apartment at a complex in the 300 block of Vine Street, causing more than $750 in damage. Officers arriving at the scene found broken glass scattered across the ground, two patio chairs near playground equipment, a shattered window in the apartment door, and the door standing open. Investigators said a witness reported hearing a disturbance before seeing Altenderfer throw a chair at the apartment door. Livingston County prosecutors charged Altenderfer with first-degree property damage, a Class E felony. Court records allege he used a chair to force open the apartment door and entryway, causing damage exceeding $750.
