David Ricky “Rick” Compton, 79, of Gallatin, Missouri, died Tuesday afternoon, July 28, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Compton was born Aug. 21, 1946, in Fort Benning, Georgia, to Earl James and Gladys (Lawson) Compton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Terralee Compton; his grandchildren, Tyler Jordan Harris and Lane Lynn Compton; and his brother, Earl “Eddie” Dewey Compton. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. Arrangements are under the direction of Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin.
