['Dick Mangrum']
101.7 WGOG
More than 4 thousand consumer complaints were received by the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs during the first six months of the year.
The department’s compilation of the complaints gives a snapshot of issues that consumers face.
The top complaint categories include vehicles, real estate, and contractors.
Through the process, the state agency reports, it recovered or saved more than $1.5 million for consumers.
From the tri-county area, 24 complaints came from Oconee County residents; 45 from Pickens County, and 76 from Anderson County.
