The town of Highlands, North Carolina has under consideration the idea of a temporary moratorium against data centers, prone to use up high energy amounts of electricity. The town will hold a hearing 7 o’clock Thursday night, August 20 for all wishing to be heard. According to the town notice, “The proposed moratorium would remain in effect for a period 12 months from the date of adoption, unless earlier terminated, extended, or modified by the Board of Commissioners in accordance with North Carolina law.” VK Facebook Twitter Google+
