“After the (Nov. 29) game (in Chicago), I felt fine,” Jones said Thursday from Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. The Steelers’ starting left tackle for two-thirds of last season, Jones has been back as a regular practice participant for the first two days of training camp. “Glad to be back with the team,” Jones said after Thursday’s practice at Saint Vincent. Technically, after the move of Troy Fautanu across the line to start at left tackle, the starter at right tackle is a competition. Tight end Darnell Washington is Jones’ longest-tenured teammate: three years at Georgia and four with the Steelers.
