In announcing the state’s spending, Shapiro told several hundred GE Vernova workers that the products they make are “creating more (electrical) power and more energy.” GE Vernova opened the plant with about 400 employees five years ago, and the company is creating more jobs every Monday, Martella said. “It’s a win for our entire region,” Shapiro said, noting that GE Vernova sources components for the electrical equipment it makes from about 40 Pennsylvania companies.
