Gregory Soto (5-3, 3.77 ERA) was the losing pitcher, and Nathaniel Lowe produced the winning RBI forceout — nearly a double play for the Pirates — after Soto loaded the bases. Elly De La Cruz got on board with a double, and Soto then walked Sal Stewart (intentionally) and Tyler Stephenson for Lowe. Mason Montgomery pitched a spotless, seven-pitch bottom of the eighth, but manager Don Kelly opted to go with Soto in the ninth. 209, and looked sharp, striking out four with a walk and a hit over the game’s first two innings.
