Nassau County Legislature Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton has secured nearly $465,000 in Community Revitalization Project grants for three Port Washington-area projects, including funding for the Port Washington Public Library, an accessible playground in the Village of Port Washington North and preservation work at the Thomas Dodge Homestead. The Nassau County Legislature unanimously approved the grants during its July 27 meeting. The largest award, a $275,000 grant, will support the Village of Port Washington North’s “Together We Play” accessible and inclusive playground and splash pad. “The Village of Port Washington North wishes to thank Nassau County Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton for her support in helping to fund the ‘Together We Play’ Accessible/Inclusive Playground and Splashpad,” Port Washington North Mayor Bob Weitzner said in a statement. “These funds will equip the Port Washington Public Library to preserve essential artifacts for future generations to learn from and enjoy.”
