Glen Cove receives $350K in funding for new lights and facilities at Pascucci Soccer Field

Nassau County Minority Leader Delia DeRiggi-Whitton has secured $350,000 for Pascucci Soccer Field improvements in Glen Cove.
In 1989, the soccer field was dedicated to Ernest J. Pascucci, a longtime Commissioner of Public Works in Glen Cove who died in 1986.
“Our family is deeply honored to see the continued investment in Ernest J. Pascucci Soccer Field,” Ronnie Pascucci, Ernest’s son, said.
The funding comes more than a decade after a proposal to sell Pascucci Soccer Field for residential development sparked community opposition.
The sale of Pascucci Soccer Field would have paid for a new field, former Glen Cove mayor Tom Suozzi said at the time, according to a published report.
