Winslow recently hired a new police chief, and Amaral said having a selection committee that included a police officer and school superintendent was key to that process. He also plans to bring in some members of the fire department, along with fire chiefs from neighboring towns to help choose Winslow’s next chief. “He’s a great guy, great professional, he was a great chief … I’m glad that this parting of ways that sometimes happens was mutual.”
