Five years ago, Gordon and Jeanne moved to Pendleton to be closer to their daughter-in-law and grandchildren after their eldest son died. With no clue of where he would be assigned, Jeanne and Gordon floated the idea of marrying each other. It was a chilly Friday in the first week of October when Gordon and Jeanne went to her parents house for dinner. In 2024, Jeanne moved to Suttle Care & Retirement in Pendleton, where she’s provided with around-the-clock care.
