Following weeks of sold-out shows, IMAX has announced that IMAX 70mm screenings of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” have now been extended by a full month. The feature was originally slated to run through August 19th, but freshly updated listings on IMAX’s website now confirm that run is being extended through to September 16th. Only about 25 U.S. theatres and 41 worldwide offer true 70mm IMAX, which has generated both excitement and frustration. The top three releases of 2026 are “Toy Story 5” ($1.02 billion), “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” ($1.001 billion) and “Michael” ($1.001 billion). It is expected to hit nearly 800 IMAX screens – and across thousands of standard auditoriums when it debuts there in two weeks.
