Popular Lake Moultrie recreation area wraps up its summer season after welcoming visitors since Memorial Day weekend.
MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Visitors planning one last summer trip to Overton Beach Park will need to do so before Aug. 3, as Santee Cooper announced the popular Lake Moultrie recreation area will close for the season beginning Monday.
Located on the shores of Lake Moultrie, Overton Beach Park has been open since Memorial Day weekend, offering a destination for swimming, sunbathing and family gatherings throughout the summer.
Overton Beach Park is one of two public parks operated by Santee Cooper, alongside Old Santee Canal Park in Berkeley County.
