Strathcona County residents will have an opportunity to meet first responders, explore emergency vehicles and learn more about the agencies that help keep the community safe during a free public showcase next month. The Strathcona County RCMP, in partnership with Strathcona County Enforcement Services, Strathcona County Emergency Services and local public safety agencies, will host the Emergency Services and Public Safety Showcase on Friday, Aug. 7, at the Salisbury Composite High School parking lot in Sherwood Park. Representatives from a range of emergency services, policing and community safety organizations will be on hand to answer questions about emergency preparedness, public safety and the services they provide. Participating organizations include Strathcona County Emergency Services and Enforcement Services, the Alberta RCMP Recruiting Unit, Alberta Sheriffs, Edmonton Regional Search and Rescue, Utility Safety Partners, MADD Edmonton and Area Chapter, CN Police, Canadian Pacific Kansas City Police and other community partners. The Alberta RCMP Recruiting Unit will also provide information about careers in policing and the RCMP recruitment process for those interested in becoming officers.
