Regulators approve sale of New Mexico Gas Company

SANTA FE, N.M. – New Mexico regulators approved the $1.25 billion sale of New Mexico Gas Company with conditions including bill credits, a rate freeze, job requirements and economic development funding.
The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission approved the deal that lets Saturn Utilities Holdco LLC, an affiliate of Bernhard Capital Partners, acquire New Mexico Gas Company.
The decision shifts parent-company ownership of New Mexico Gas Company from Emera Inc. to Louisiana-based Bernhard Capital Partners while the utility continues operating in New Mexico.
