STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Spotify has launched a new feature called User Notes, allowing users to add personal captions and memories to individual songs in their playlists as part of efforts to make music collections more meaningful. Spotify said the feature is intended to transform playlists into more personal collections rather than simple lists of songs. Saved notes will be visible to anyone who has access to the playlist, with the author’s name linking directly to their Spotify profile. User Notes is available to users aged 16 and above on both free and premium plans in selected markets. Spotify also introduced a new Running Mode for premium subscribers in selected countries.
