SAN FRANCISCO, United States – LinkedIn has introduced a new feature that allows users to report posts they believe are low-quality, AI-generated content as the platform steps up efforts to reduce what is commonly described as “AI slop.”
LinkedIn Chief Product Officer Hari Srinivasan said the company wants the platform to remain a place where people share authentic ideas, expertise and professional experiences.
According to Srinivasan, the reporting tool is part of a wider strategy that includes new AI-powered detection systems designed to identify low-quality content and reduce its visibility in recommendations.
LinkedIn will also begin privately notifying users through their dashboards when their posts are perceived as overly reliant on AI-generated content, giving them an opportunity to make their writing sound more authentic.
The announcement comes as online platforms increasingly respond to growing concerns about AI-generated content flooding the internet.
