Thames Valley Police said their Windsor West neighbourhood policing team were out patrolling drug and antisocial behaviour 'hotspots' around Hanover Way and Vale Road last week when officers found a driver they suspected may be driving without insurance. Officers searched the car and its occupants, and discovered cannabis in the driver's side door. Colleagues from the Roads Policing team came to assist and issued a preliminary drugs wipe which tested positive for cannabis. The car was seized and the driver was arrested for driving whilst disqualified, driving without third party insurance, drug driving, and possession of cannabis. Police said the driver went on to be interviewed in custody and was then issued with a community resolution order for the cannabis possession, while the other offences "will be dealt with by the courts after enquiries are completed".
