Netflix Sued for $105M Over Stolen Unreleased Nicolas Cage World War II Thriller

Subscribers, screenwriters, reality show participants, and the real-life inspirations behind its dramas have all taken the streamer to court.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer-producer Simon Afram and his company, Op-Fortitude, filed suit in California federal court on Wednesday, accusing Netflix of undermining the sale prospects of Fortitude, a World War II spy thriller starring Nicolas Cage.
Netflix disputes that it should bear legal responsibility for that loss.
"Netflix disputes any claim that it bears the risk of loss for a film delivered without the proper industry-standard safeguards," the streamer said.
