Llandudno Coastguard were called out to a major incident yesterday (July 29) alongside North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service , Welsh Ambulance Services , Wales Air Ambulance, Conwy Lifeboat and RNLI Llandudno Lifeboat. The coastguard deployed their rope rescue system in order to extract the casualty when a medical decision was made that a helicopter lift would be safer for the casualty. They said they liaised with the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at Holyhead to request a Coastguard helicopter to lift the casualty. The casualty was eventually transferred to an ambulance and taken to Glan Clwyd hospital for further treatment, a Llandudno Coastguard spokesperson said.
